A joint venture established in 2001 along with the horticulture and food research institute of New Zealand Ltd (Hort Research), to grow blueberries in the Hawkes Bay. Soils here are lighter and the climate is hotter and drier than New Zealand’s traditional blueberry growing area of the Waikato. The entire crop is enclosed with a bird netting structure. This is 5 meters high, providing protection from birds, wind and hail. An overhead frost protection sprinkler system has been installed so at all times the Blueberry bushes are protected. We pride ourselves on growing the freshest tasting Blueberries in New Zealand.
